What is dental implantation?

When a permanent tooth was removed for some reason, unfortunately the new tooth will not grow.

Implantation is the implantation of a tooth substitute in a bone that is made of a biocompatible material, often titanium. This operation is non-traumatic and takes less than an hour. Now more and more patients are vibrating the implant when they have loose teeth.

What to do when there is no tooth or teeth?

It must be replaced. there are 3 options - a bridge, removable prosthesis or implantation.

Dental Bridge

It requires grinding of adjacent teeth, which can be healthy, and it is precisely because of this grinding that they can begin to deteriorate. Also, this prosthesis (bridge) requires replacement over time and can be the cause of poor oral hygiene if you do not follow it.

Removable denture

It is rarely used when only 1 tooth is missing. This is a cheap solution compared to others, since it does not require tooth grinding. But the installation of a removable prosthesis entails many difficulties such as: poor chewing of food, social discomfort, poor aesthetics of the teeth, resorption of the bone under the prosthesis.

Implantation

The best solution of all the proposed ones and the only disadvantages are the duration of implant survival and the cost of the procedure

How long should an implant integration take?

The implant survives from 3 to 6 months. At the end of this process, complete osseointegration takes place and then prosthetics on the implant can be done. MK Dental Clinic can offer both one-stage implantation, when the crown is placed on the implant immediately, and two-stage when they first wait for the implant to take root.

What is an implant made of?

The implant consists of:

  • Titanium pin (which is implanted)
  • Gum shaper - placed for 2 weeks after the implant is fully engrafted, so that the gum around it takes a beautiful round shape
  • Abutment - the part that connects the implant and the crown and creates the basis for putting on the crown (can be titanium or zirconium)
  • The crown can be zirconium or cermet, it all depends on the wishes of the patient

But what if the implant did not integrate?

According to statistics, there are only 2–3% of such cases, and they mainly occur in patients with common diseases, such as diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, and other endocrine problems.

The manufacturer in this case makes a discount on re-implantation, as you should not give up after the first failure. Clinic MK Dental also gives a discount on re-implantation.
